Identification of miR-223 from rheumatoid arthritis genome

Objective: To identify miRNAs from Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) genome sequences. Background: RA is an autoimmune disorder causing inflammation in the joints and in certain cases, they also affect the lungs, blood vessels, heart, eyes, etc. In people with RA, early diagnosis and therapeutic intervention or treatment can help to avert severe disease symptoms. The adoption of appropriate predictive biomarkers could help RA treatment be more effective. Materials and Methods: This study uses bioinformatics or computational approaches. RA genome sequences were retrieved using the NCBI (National Centre for Biotechnology Information) database. The secondary structure of miR-223 was obtained from the RNA fold web server and the mature sequence was identified using the RNA fold web server. Finally, target scan was used to identify the target sequence. Results: The miRNA identified from RA genome sequence was miR-223. It’s mature sequence and secondary structure was obtained from the RNA fold web server. Conclusion: In conclusion, it was found that miR-223 is an effective therapeutic target for RA. It acts as a specific biomarker and can help in the diagnosis and treatment of RA.
